EP#68 – Life from a Different Perspective.

We can’t call it “Life” if there aren’t any bumps in the road.

If we hadn’t faced and overcome all of the problems that we have, we would not be who we are today.

Looking life from a different perspective will remind us to stay humble and be thankful for the blessings that we are experiencing right now. We worry too much about little matters while others struggle for their freedom and life.

Steve Borys wrote the book “How to Beat Stalin, Hitler, and the Southern State Parkway.” with his advocacy on helping people get back into their fight and to give people hope for a better tomorrow. He shared incredible stories about how the Borys family conquered adversities and go on to have a successful life despite the odds.

On Steve’s Ukrainian side of the family, his grandmother survived not one, but two evil dictators. In the 1930s, they were victims of Joseph Stalin’s Holodomor, or The Great Hunger and they had to do unspeakable things to survive. And just when things started to look better, Adolf Hitler launches Operation Barbarossa, an invasion of the Soviet Union. Millions were killed, while some, including Steve’s grandma, were seized and sold as slaves.

There might be moments that you wonder, “Why is this happening to me?” or “Why do I have to go through this kind of suffering?” Do not give up and just keep going. Everything happens for a reason and you will undoubtedly become a stronger version of yourself. We may encounter problems that overwhelm us, but we need to keep on fighting and continue believing that we can win and succeed.
