EP#34 -“Diet vs Lifestyle is like a Sprint vs a Marathon.” – David Medansky

My friend, David Medansky’s, new book, Break the Chains of Dieting, is already available! If you’ve gone from failed diet to failed diet, trying to lose weight or keep it off, this book is for you.
Break the Chains of Dieting provides a guide that reminds people what needs to be done to have a healthy lifestyle.
It is a “MUST-READ” for anyone wanting to eat healthier, have more energy, feel better, shed weight, and keep it off, and improve your overall health.
The 9 Principles in this book will help you reduce your risk for heart attack, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. You don’t need all 9. You just need the first 2 to improve your overall health. After all, who doesn’t want to have more energy, feel better, and improve their overall health.
David realized that some books about diet have misinformation because a lot of authors are promoting products or services or a certain program. It is not to provide guidance and help for other people. David wanted to help other people avoid the diet industry that is designed to keep people failing. He believes that diets are designed to failed and reducing weight is all about lifestyle change.
“Diet vs Lifestyle is like a Sprint vs a Marathon.”
Diet is like a sprint. Sprint has a goal and when you reach the target, you’re done with it. And most people revert to their old habits. While Lifestyle is like a Marathon. You keep on running and it keeps you going and you do not stop.
“You have to look at your body as a machine and it needs the right fuel for optimal performance.”
Here are some of the key things to transform yourself that David mentioned on his live interview with Jimbo Paris. (https://youtu.be/aUYa4Bpp4qY)
- Drink more water. Pure water helps your digestive system and have a lot of other benefits.
- Slowdown your eating habits.
- Have an adequate sleep, at least 7 to 8 hours at night. When you are sleep deprived, an average person will likely to consume an extra of 500 calories per day.
- Read nutritional labels on packaging of products. It is not so much about the food but it is so much about on what they have done to the food.
- Be physically active. Exercise.
David is known as the “Overweight’s Best Friend” because he helps them reduce weight and keep it off in a healthy manner without going on a diet. He finds out what you do like that is healthy and he will focus on that. He will find out what are you eating that you should not be eating so that you can replace it and then eventually substitute and avoid eating it. It is about creating the lifestyle that you enjoy.
“The way to reach the goal is creating the new lifestyle. It’s about creating the lifestyle that you enjoy. If you go on a diet and you are not enjoying it, you’re not going to stick with it. If you create a lifestyle that you enjoy, then you’ll going to keep doing it. “ – David Medansky
